Dawn & Tim

What was your ring designing experience like?

I had a rough idea in mind with how I wanted to use my heirloom diamond, and as soon as I met Chelsea she hit the ground running and had so many great designs that specifically took into account my heirloom diamond and enhanced it to be the center of attention. All of her added design characteristics for the ring revolved around the diamond which I really appreciated, and once we narrowed down the proportions of the band, pear diamonds, and the head of the ring were carefully crafted to be exactly what I wanted.

Why did you choose Honey Designs to design your ring?

I found Honey Designs on Instagram and really liked all of the past designs there were. I knew I really wanted to work with someone one on one that could understand how important my heirloom diamond was and to make this ring incredibly special.

What surprised you the most?

I was surprised how many variations and customizations that go into jewelry design, and after making a few decisions I love it even more knowing how custom it is. The small intricate details make the ring so beautiful!

What do you love most about your ring?

Besides daydreaming about my diamond's previous life coming from my Grandma back in the 60's, I really love the band specifically. Chelsea went above and beyond to get it perfect- it's a very delicate size all the way around and tapers as it goes up almost pointing at the diamond. Every detail compliments each other on the ring, and most importantly works incredibly well with my heirloom diamond.

How did you & your significant other meet?

We used to work together at a design agency in Manhattan, and when I say work together I mean sat directly next to each other for 5 years- some how we never got sick of one another!

Where was your first date?

Our first date was at one of those group paint classes, which then turned into a lunch date and then turned into a whole day of adventuring around the lower east side in NYC.

Whereโ€™s your favorite hidden gem in Cincinnati?

When we first moved to Cincinnati we happened to stumble across this abandoned mall: Cincinnati Mills Mall and as we drove around we saw someone go inside. Not sure if it's still open post-Covid, but wow it was so cool to see how abandoned it was and to imagine a once thriving mall completely empty other than a very cool old arcade. Highly recommended!

Favorite Way to Spend a Date Day/Night:

I just started a new business (ironically wedding invitations!) and with the Covid virus it's been quite hard to get some alone time together outside of the house, so I would say grilling dinner in our backyard followed by a RedBox movie night with lots of snacks :)
