Emma & Connor

What was your ring designing experience like?

E: Having only dropped heavy hints to Connor, I wasn't part of the design experience. However, what Connor has told me about it is that it was all encompassing and made things far less stressful. He routinely tells me how amazing it was to work with Chelsea.

C: Truly awesome. Chelsea was great to work with. She took care of almost everything, I came in with an idea for a ring design and she quickly showed me 5-7 ways of how we could incorporate it into the final design. She made the effort to personally drop the ring off to me (during the pandemic) because I wanted to go show my family up in Wisconsin. She went above and beyond anything I would have expected from any other ring designer.

Why did you choose Honey Designs to design your ring?

E: My mom is childhood best friends with Chelsea's mom, so when Connor and I began talking about taking this next step in our relationship, my mother highly recommended working with Chelsea and we couldn't be happier with that decision.

C: Chelsea is a family friend of Emma's mom and strongly recommended her. I wanted to work with someone close to the family because I know how important family and close friends are to Emma.

What surprised you the most?

E: What surprised me most was how fun and easy going the proposal was. We were on the top of a mountain and had a photographer there who brought flowers with the most beautiful ring to look at. Chelsea found us the perfect photographer and a perfect bouquet. It was nothing but non stop laughter and smiles that day.

C: Just the ease of working with Chelsea, even when I was trying to plan a destination proposal, she took care of everything and all I needed to do was pick a time and place. Everything else was a breeze.

What do you love most about your ring?

E: What I love most about the ring is the love and effort put into it. Connor used a sapphire stone from my parents and added his personal touch to it. I couldn't love it more and I certainly can't stop looking at it! It is exactly what I imagined.

C: I love that it's not a "typical" ring. Emma and I tend to stay away from things that are super trendy or what a lot of people are doing. Everyone and their mother has told me they love the design so I must have done something right haha.

How did you & your significant other meet?

E: We both attended boarding school and met our junior year in chemistry class. He was the quiet, shy guy and I was the loud class clown. I thought he was cute and reached out to him just before we left for Thanksgiving break to plan a date... and there may have been a bet involved, which I won!

C: We went to a boarding high school together. We were in Chemistry class (fitting) in our junior year. One night I was sitting in study hall before a hockey game and she sent me a tweet saying "Come hangout with me" I told her that I could in a couple days and that was our first "date". About 3 years later I found out that she had a bet going with her friend (who was in our class) that Emma could start dating me before her friend would start dating my friend (also in our class). Needless to say, she won and we've now been together for 8 years.

Where was your first date?

E: Being that we went to boarding school, dates weren't "normal". Our first date was sitting on a bench by the lake behind his barracks. We sat there and talked for hours getting to know each other.

C: On a bench, in a field, behind the barracks I lived in in high school. Emma and I had the same free period and we decided to hangout there. I was nervous so I brought a notebook filled with questions to ask her. I think to this day, that's the best interview she's ever done ;)

Whereโ€™s your favorite hidden gem in Cincinnati?

E: My favorite hidden gem is probably the Loveland bike trail. Taking that from the Monkey Bar to downtown Loveland and enjoying drinks on patios is quite peaceful!

C: Personally, I'm a huge fan of going to Cyclones games. Tickets are like $20 a piece and Wednesday is always dollar beer night.

Favorite Way to Spend a Date Day/Night:

E: My favorite way to spend a date night is either going to get tacos then going to a Cincinnati Cyclones game or cooking at home and watching a movie.

C: The date night we have most often is going down to Condados in OTR for tacos and a couple margs, then making our way over to Heritage Bank Center for whatever Cyclones game we have tickets for (more often than not, on Wednesday night)
