Amanda & Mike

What was your ring designing experience like?

A: Fun and simple. It was easy working with Chelsea remotely since I'm pretty far from Cincinnati. I loved how she was able to show me variations of many elements I liked. Plus, I do a lot of 3-d modeling and design in my career, so I totally nerded out over seeing Chelsea's software in action and being involved in the design process.

M: After a weird experience in a jewelry shop in the Bahamas, and too much info to sort through on the Internet, it was a relief to work with Chelsea. She was very transparent and good at answering questions that I didn't even think to ask.

Why did you choose Honey Designs to design your ring?

A: I already knew how talented Chelsea was because we attended the same college, and that her dad was also a jeweler, so I was sure it would be a quality product.

M: Amanda mentioned it would be her preference, and dropped hints if I saw her scrolling through Instagram and a Honey Designs post would come up. I didn't really know where else to start, so it worked for me, because I didn't want to go to a big box store.

What surprised you the most?

A: That moment when Mike got down on one knee with an absolutely gorgeous ring!

M: How simple it actually was to buy a ring.

What do you love most about your ring?

A: It is custom made and perfectly my style. I'm obsessed with the cathedral setting.

M: How shiny it is.

How did you & your significant other meet?

A: Through mutual friends on a night out in downtown Willoughby.

M: In a bar. I saw Amanda on Snapchat so I approached her to get her username.

Where was your first date?

A: Mike took me out for dinner at Melt and then to downtown Willoughby to get drinks after.

M: Melt Bar and Grilled. Kept it simple with dinner and drinks.

Whereโ€™s your favorite hidden gem in the Cleveland area?

A: I love the way the flats have been revived. One of my favorite dates ever was scuba diving with Mike in the Cleveland Aquarium, then taking the free water taxi across the river for dinner on the East Bank. The Cleveland Vegan cafe is also noteworthy, though...yum!

M: The Velvet Tango Room. Pro tip: go during happy hour.

Favorite Way to Spend a Date Day/Night:

A: One of my favorites is to get outside and either go for a nice long hike or bike ride, then come home and make a nice dinner to pair with a wine selection.

M: Same as Amanda; we tend to do a lot outside to make the most of our time off work together.
